The Sort City Council and the Catalan Government announced this Saturday in Tremp a 3.7 million euro investment to improve the N-260 highway and local infrastructure.

After more than two years of negotiations, the Sort City Council has confirmed a significant economic injection linked to the expansion works of the N-260 highway. These funds will address critical safety and mobility issues that residents have demanded for decades.
The most prominent project will be the new roundabout in Montardit de Baix, budgeted at 1.4 million euros. This infrastructure aims to solve access problems to the village and will integrate with a future bike lane connecting Sort and Montardit.

"We must continue to increase investments in the Pyrenean road network."

In the urban center of Sort, a 2.3 million euro investment will cover two key interventions: technical improvements to the Riuet bridge and the rehabilitation of the La Seu bridge over the Noguera Pallaresa river. The latter is strategic for the 2027 Canoeing World Championship.
The Generalitat de Catalunya will be responsible for the design and execution of the projects, with an estimated completion timeline of 18 to 24 months.
