The town of Linyola has successfully held its XI Chamomile and Vintage Tractor Fair, attracting a large number of visitors. The event featured around forty stalls offering aromatic and medicinal plants, local products, and information from local entities. A major attraction was the exhibition of over 90 vintage tractors, some of which participated in skill tests.
According to the mayor, Xavier Alís, the fair originated from the discovery of the special soil characteristics in Linyola, which give the local chamomile its high quality. The aim is to promote this plant and its healing properties, particularly for digestion.
The program began early in the morning with the arrival of vintage tractors at Planell square and a popular lunch. The day included a tractor gymkhana where drivers demonstrated their skill with historic vehicles, as well as strength tests pitting rural and urban participants against each other. Balance tests on hay bales were also conducted without any reported incidents.
The good weather contributed to a large turnout, especially at the aromatic and medicinal herb stalls, where visitors received explanations about each plant's uses. Entry to the tractor exhibition and test area was free. The event, organized by the town council, has now surpassed ten editions, largely due to the appeal of the tractor demonstrations.
