Joel Castanyé to Inaugurate Sant Isidori Festival in Mollerussa

The renowned chef will kick off six days of cultural, sports, and religious activities in the capital of Pla d'Urgell.

Renowned chef Joel Castanyé Daniel will deliver the inaugural speech for the Sant Isidori Festivities in Mollerussa, scheduled from April 7 to 12, featuring a diverse program of activities for all audiences.

The opening ceremony, set for the evening of Tuesday, April 7, at the Teatre L'Amistat, will mark the beginning of six days filled with cultural, popular, sports, and religious events in the municipality. The program will commence with the speech and a musical performance.
On Wednesday, April 8, the Centre Cultural will host a conference by the bishop of Solsona, addressing the loss of truth in the communication society. Thursday, April 9, will start with a popular walk in the Parc Municipal, coinciding with World Physical Activity Day. In the afternoon, the Centre Cultural will be the venue for the presentation of the podcast Llegir, an initiative combining literature and humor with the participation of Uriol Gilibets, Eduard Gener, and journalist Francesc Canosa.
One of the most anticipated events will be the Literary Night, taking place on Friday, April 10, at the Teatre L'Amistat. During this evening, the 38th Ciutat de Mollerussa Short Novel Award and the 10th Saó de Ponent Award will be presented, along with the winning work from the previous edition. The event will maintain a café-theater format and will be hosted by the Grup de Teatre La Faràndula.
The bulk of activities will be concentrated over the weekend. Saturday, April 11, will begin with a popular scavenger hunt including a musical vermouth and lunch, followed by the presentation of the Premis Sol del Pla at the Teatre L'Amistat. At midday, the Plaça Major will host the presentation of events for the 40th anniversary of the Diables de Mollerussa. In the afternoon, the Pavelló Poliesportiu 19 de març will be the venue for the semifinals of the Catalan Junior Preferent Men's Basketball Championship, while the Plaça de l'Ajuntament will celebrate the 17th Tarda Bastonera. The day will conclude with the town's votive mass in honor of Sant Isidori at the parish church, followed by veneration of the patron saint.
Finally, on Sunday, April 12, the last day of festivities, the Pavelló Firal will host the 27th Lace Makers' Gathering in the morning, and the Teatre L'Amistat will be the stage for the Ciutat de Mollerussa Urban Dance Championship. In the afternoon, the Pavelló Poliesportiu 19 de març will host the third and fourth-place match and the grand final of the Catalan Junior Preferent Men's Basketball Championship.
