Officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested four individuals, two men and two women from the same family, in Mollerussa, accusing them of belonging to a criminal group specializing in marijuana trafficking. The investigation, which began in late May 2024, has uncovered a complex network of illicit activities.
The Investigation Unit of the ABP Pla d'Urgell-les Garrigues identified an indoor marijuana plantation, a property used to hide the drugs, and a third apartment for storing illicit profits. During surveillance, 11 drug transactions were recorded, and it was observed that the suspects frequently changed their selling points to evade detection.
Clan members had defined roles and were distributing marijuana to young consumers in the region. In a coordinated operation, three simultaneous searches were conducted in residences in Mollerussa and a detached house in Linyola.
During the searches, over two kilograms of marijuana prepared for retail sale, 32,824 euros in cash, three precision scales, two short firearms with ammunition, and a wooden club with nails were seized. In Linyola, a facility capable of growing 300 marijuana plants was discovered, along with cultivation equipment and a wall-mounted safe.
The Mossos d'Esquadra believe this operation has led to the dismantling of a significant drug dealing hub in Pla d'Urgell.
