The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, presided over the official inauguration of the Mollerussa Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (INSEMI), a new facility crucial for the area's economic development.

The Mollerussa Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (INSEMI) has officially opened its doors, with an event presided over by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu. This new center, jointly promoted by the Mollerussa City Council and Fira de Mollerussa, aims to become a benchmark for supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, and enhancing the competitiveness of the local economic sector.
During his speech, Hereu highlighted the role of Mollerussa and the Pla d’Urgell region as "a major hub of economic and social activity." He emphasized the importance of linking INSEMI with Fira de Mollerussa, noting how trade fairs have evolved to become "true catalysts for economic development projects." The minister also presented the region as an example of "reinvention" over the past 150 years, thanks to infrastructure like the Canal d’Urgell and railway connectivity.
For his part, the mayor of Mollerussa, Marc Solsona, remarked that the institute is founded with the intention of being a space "where talent, innovation, and the desire to undertake coexist." The project was made possible by a grant of nearly 300,000 euros awarded by the Ministry.
The event concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by Minister Hereu, his signature in the City Council's Book of Honor, and the reception of a commemorative lithograph marking the centenary of the Teatre L’Amistat.
