The match, marked by rain and intensity in the final minutes, saw the return to scoring for Jofre Graells, who netted after more than a year without a goal due to a severe knee injury. This goal was key to restoring equality on the scoreboard, after Vilanova had overturned Scuri's initial 0-1 lead.
The encounter started with action, with Jofre attempting to score with his hand and receiving a yellow card. Shortly after, Vilanova responded with a shot hitting the post by Torrens, but it was Mollerussa who took the lead in the 15th minute with a great individual play by Scuri down the right wing.
The home team's reaction was swift. In the 18th minute, Cuevas capitalized on a mistake by goalkeeper Pepo to equalize. Later, Torrens made it 2-1 in the 33rd minute, converting a one-on-one and sending the match to halftime with Vilanova in the lead.
In the second half, Mollerussa found the equalizer in the 57th minute, when Jofre stole the ball from the opposing goalkeeper after a miscommunication with his defender, scoring into an empty net. Although Vilanova had chances to regain the lead, with shots hitting the post and crossbar, Mollerussa held their ground until the end, securing a point that leaves them in a favorable position for survival.
“"I believe we let two points slip away. It's true that we were facing a very good opponent, but we were a brave team throughout the match. I am very proud of the team."
Mollerussa coach, Manel Cazorla, expressed his pride in the team, despite feeling they could have secured all three points. He highlighted his players' bravery and a strong second half, even though they couldn't clinch the victory. This draw, extending their unbeaten run to four matches, gives them energy for the upcoming clash against Lleida, with the possibility of securing permanence.
