House Collapse in Vilanova de Bellpuig Leaves Four Injured, Two Seriously

Twenty-two units of the Catalan Firefighters worked on Carrer Nou to free the victims who were trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building.

Four people were affected, two seriously injured, after a two-story house collapsed on Carrer Nou in Vilanova de Bellpuig early Wednesday morning.

Emergency services received the alert at 06:18 a.m. on Wednesday regarding the collapse of a two-story house on Carrer Nou in Vilanova de Bellpuig, located in the Pla d'Urgell region.
Up to 22 units of the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters), including the canine unit, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they confirmed that at least two people were trapped under the rubble.

Rescue teams managed to free one of the trapped victims and worked intensely to secure the structure and rescue the second person, who remained conscious.

The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) activated four ambulances to treat the affected individuals. Two victims sustained minor injuries and were transferred to the CUAP de Mollerussa, while the two trapped individuals were reported to be seriously injured.
