The Brazilian team Elleve Soccer has been crowned champion of the Pre-MICFootball in Banyoles, defeating Club Esportiu Banyoles in a thrilling penalty shootout, marking the kickoff of the 24th edition of the MICFootball.

The city of Banyoles has once again hosted the Pre-MICFootball, a competition held this Tuesday at the Miquel Coromina i Moretó stadium. This event served as a prelude to the 24th edition of the MICFootball (MIC–Mediterranean International Cup), which will be inaugurated tomorrow and will run until Sunday across 45 municipalities in the province of Girona.
The winner of this one-day tournament was Elleve Soccer from Brazil, who overcame Club Esportiu Banyoles in a penalty shootout in the final, after a goalless draw during regular time. The competition featured six cadet category teams (U15 and U16), combining local clubs with international teams.
The two host teams, Club Esportiu Banyoles and Atlètic Club Banyoles, participated in the tournament alongside four teams from different parts of the world: the Oakville Jaguars Soccer Academy (Canada), PSA Monmouth (United States), Elleve Soccer (Brazil), and Wakatake (Japan). All of them took part in an event that has become a consolidated curtain-raiser for the start of the MICFootball.

The final was very evenly matched and was decided from the penalty spot, where the main protagonist was the Brazilian team's goalkeeper, Iago Morado, who saved the decisive penalty.

The trophy ceremony was attended by the mayor of Banyoles, Miquel Noguer, and the sports councilor, Jordi Congost, who participated in the closing ceremony of the tournament.
