Exchange space at the Porqueres recycling center with reusable objects.

The Porqueres municipal recycling center has opened a new exchange space to promote the reuse of objects that are still in good condition.

The aim of this initiative is to give materials a second chance and reduce waste generation, aligning with circular economy principles. This new area was created following the expansion works of the special waste shed carried out over the past year.
Recycling center users can leave objects they no longer need but which are still functional for others. This represents a further step in waste prevention, seeking to give products a new life before they become waste.
For safety and regulatory reasons, electrical and electronic appliances are excluded from the exchange space. These waste items follow a controlled process to authorized recovery centers to ensure their safety before reuse or recycling.
To take objects from this space, users must be active participants at the recycling center, having previously deposited waste. A limit of five items per user per year has been set, with the possibility of justified extensions.
