The project began in September 2017 when Swedish entrepreneurs Ann Skoglund and Peter Skoglund acquired the estate from Joan and Maria, who had farmed the land for forty years. The deal was sealed with a traditional handshake, known in Catalan as 'El Tracte', which serves as the name for this flagship wine.
Crafted from vines aged between 40 and 50 years, the wine is produced under the guidance of winemaker Joan Asens. The estate is officially certified organic and vegan, emphasizing a respectful approach to the land and the historical Carignan variety.
Priced at 24.85 euros, El Tracte is noted for its intensity, fresh acidity, and long finish. The winery's name, Bell Cros, translates to 'beautiful valley', reflecting the project's core values of landscape preservation and trust.
