Nuclear Plants in Ascó and Vandellós Produced 58.8% of Catalonia's Energy in 2025

Total production reached 22,800 GWh last year, preventing millions of tons of CO2 emissions.

The three nuclear power plants in Catalonia produced a total of 22,800 GWh throughout 2025, accounting for 58.8% of the energy generated within the Catalan territory.

According to provisional data from Red Eléctrica released by ANAV, this production represents 8.6% of the total net electricity generated in the peninsular system. This volume is equivalent to the consumption of 11% of all households in Spain.
Ascó I led the statistics with 7,991.3 GWh, followed by Vandellós II with 7,392 GWh, and Ascó II with 7,280.6 GWh. The facilities maintained high efficiency levels, with load factors exceeding 92% in both Ascó units.
