The Flix City Council approved on Wednesday, November 4th, during a plenary session, the freezing of municipal taxes for 2027, marking the third consecutive year without increasing the tax burden on citizens. All rates and taxes will remain the same.
The only modification approved in the fiscal ordinances is an update to the ordinance regulating the Tax on Constructions, Installations, and Works (ICIO), which will allow for the installment payment of larger amounts.
Mayor Francesc Barbero highlighted the relevance of this measure amidst rising living costs. He emphasized that the council has the financial capacity to promote projects and actions without raising taxes.
During the same session, the council approved a credit modification of over €750,000 for new expenses and to supplement existing budget lines until the end of the year.
Among the planned initiatives is an asphalting plan for twelve streets and public spaces in the municipality, scheduled for December. Additionally, the electrical distribution board number 11 will undergo a comprehensive renovation with an investment of €200,000, aiming to resolve long-standing lighting issues in areas such as Raval, Xofars, and along the Ebre riverfront.
The plenary session also included the draw for members of the electoral boards for the general elections on November 29, 2026.
