The 123rd Ebre River Festival will take place between August 22nd and 30th in Móra d'Ebre, highlighted by the recent declaration of the festival as a Traditional Festival of National Interest by the Generalitat Government. This historic milestone underscores the preservation of river traditions and the town's connection with the river.
The central day, Saturday, August 29th, will include the appointment of José Antonio Serres Mota as Honorary Daliner, a parade with authorities, the Pubilles and Hereus, and the Gegants Sirgadors. A commemorative plaque for the national recognition will also be unveiled, followed by exhibitions of the Sirgadors de l’Ebre, the llaguter horn call, mulet races, a swimming crossing of the river, and a plastic duck launch.
The river will be a central focus with activities such as the canoe descent from Garcia to Móra d'Ebre, a mixed sailing and rowing race, a gathering of traditional Latin and Ebre sailing boats, environmental awareness activities, and river navigation.
Music will play a significant role with concerts by Miquel del Roig on Monday, August 24th, and a free performance by Alfred Garcia on Sunday, August 30th, at Passeig del Pont, which will conclude the festival.
The program also includes popular events such as the Summer Carnival, a communal dinner, a charity bingo, the Correbars, activities for children and youth, habanera concerts, and dances. The XXXIV Correfoc (fire run) of Móra d'Ebre is scheduled for Friday, August 28th.
The Main Festival will culminate on Sunday, August 30th, with the pyrotechnic show “Els Colors de l’Ebre” (The Colors of the Ebre), created by Pirotècnia Igual, which will be launched from various points along the riverfront to be reflected on the water.
As a technological innovation, marIA ([moradebre.lamaria.cat](http://moradebre.lamaria.cat)) has been integrated, a conversational assistant based on artificial intelligence accessible via WhatsApp for consulting information on the program, schedules, and locations of events.
The Móra d'Ebre City Council invites participation in a festival that blends tradition and innovation, celebrating the town's riverine and festive heritage.
