The Móra d'Ebre City Council submitted an aeronautical study this Tuesday for the site of a future emergency heliport, a mandatory step for the Government of Catalonia to approve the project.

The initiative aims to bring back the medical helicopter to the Terres de l'Ebre region. Following a contract change in the Medical Emergency System (SEM), the service was temporarily moved to Reus. The helicopter will only return to Móra d'Ebre once a 24-hour operational facility is completed.

"The City Council is now working seriously to resolve this, and as soon as we have the land available, we will need a project to carry out the investment."

Additionally, authorities announced that roadworks for the new 2+1 lanes on the C-12 highway between Tivissa and Móra la Nova will begin next week. The project involves an 8 million euro investment to improve regional road safety.
