Móra la Nova is set to host the third edition of the Steam Festival on May 1st and 2nd, an event that will transform it into the steam capital of Southern Europe, highlighting the importance of this technology in the industrial revolution.

Organized by the Railway Museum in Móra la Nova and the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia, the festival's main objective is to showcase the value of steam technology and its fundamental role in Catalonia's industrial transformation.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to observe various steam engines up close and enjoy rides on historic trains, both full-scale and model versions. Among the featured locomotives are the Cuco, the AM105, or the Sharp 120, as well as the Olot locomotive and modernist carriages built between 1923 and 1925.
One of this year's novelties is the inauguration of the recently restored old economat, which will house circuits of manned scale trains featuring steam technology. Other un-restored locomotives, such as the Bonita, the Mikado, or the Garrafeta, will also be on display.
The event will not be limited to railways but will offer a broader perspective on the world of steam. The Barcelona Fire Department will participate with an exhibition of a 19th-century steam-powered fire pump, manufactured in London.
Additionally, the period atmosphere will be provided by the Retrofuturist Nautilus Association, which will recreate the aesthetics of the golden age of steam, transporting visitors to a fascinating industrial past.
