The start of this direct democracy mechanism, announced by the Móra d'Ebre City Council, will allow citizens to propose and vote on projects to be financed with municipal funds. This initiative is part of the Government team's commitment to fostering neighborhood involvement in the management of public resources.
This novelty comes shortly after the Municipal Plenary approved the general budgets for 2026, which reached a record figure of 9.5 million euros. This budgetary increase allows for the reservation of a specific allocation for the proposals arising from the participatory process.
This process is a key tool to reinforce transparency and efficiency in the use of resources, ensuring that investments respond to the real needs of the population.
Concurrently, the Ribera d'Ebre Regional Council also approved its accounts for 2026, with a budget of nearly 9.7 million euros, thus consolidating strong public investment throughout the region. Other recent news includes the recognition of the good results of the Móra d'Ebre Regional Hospital by the Agency for Health Quality and Assessment.
