Civil Protection has activated the Neucat plan due to the forecast of significant snowfall this Saturday in central and northeastern Catalonia, with the snow line potentially dropping to 300 meters.

The Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (SMC) has issued a danger warning level 2 out of 6 for snow. The snow line is initially set between 600 and 700 meters, with the possibility of accumulating up to 5 centimeters of snow, although it could drop temporarily to 300 or 400 meters.
The regions facing the highest risk include Alt Empordà, Selva, Ripollès, Osona, Moianès, Lluçanès, and Berguedà, all under the Neucat plan alert activated by Civil Protection.
This Saturday morning, the snow has already forced the use of chains on about twenty Catalan roads, according to the Catalan Traffic Service.
Among the most affected routes are the C-28 at the Bonaigua pass, the C-13 between Llavorsí and Esterri d’Àneu, and several sections of the N-260, including the Cantó pass, the Toses pass, and the Creu de Perves pass, in addition to the C-462 at the Port pass.
