Currently, the Rural Agents corps in Ripollès consists of fourteen members. Prat's objective is to increase this number to be more competitive and reach a greater number of points in the territory, especially those that require special attention due to their unique environmental characteristics.
“"We must give high value to these spaces and explain to outsiders that they must be preserved. We must boost the conservation of the natural environment through its inhabitants."
With a larger staff, a significant improvement in coverage is expected. Until now, the main focus has been on protected natural areas, such as the Natural Park of the Headwaters of the Ter and Freser, and the Protected Natural Areas of Alta Garrotxa and Serra de Montgrony. However, new additions would allow patrolling to extend to the rest of the region.
Prat has also highlighted the importance of addressing problems that arise in areas experiencing a large influx of visitors at certain times of the year, which can lead to problematic situations. Furthermore, he emphasizes the need to foster harmonious coexistence among citizens, ranchers, and institutions, always respecting the natural environment.
