A fiber optic cable theft caused the interruption of the Rodalies R3 line service between La Garriga and Ripoll for three hours this Saturday morning, affecting hundreds of commuters.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, when the theft of fiber optic cable rendered the railway infrastructure inoperative. This situation forced the suspension of train circulation in the affected section, causing significant delays and inconvenience to users.
The service was fully restored after 11:30 AM, following intensive work by Renfe's technical teams to repair the damage. During the interruption period, an alternative road service was provided to cover the affected route and minimize disruption for passengers.
This incident adds to previous disruptions on the same line. Currently, several ongoing works already required road service between Ripoll and Puigcerdà, and the replacement of service between l'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Montcada Bifurcació by the R4 line, further complicating mobility in the area.
