The Campdevànol Town Council has reported positively on the initial months of its canine civic campaign, aimed at raising citizen awareness regarding responsible pet ownership.

The campaign, promoted by the council, emphasizes the need to keep dogs on a leash, collect their waste, and dilute their urine. To this end, information panels have been installed in areas where people and animals coexist. Additionally, water bottles and waste bag dispensers are being given to owners who have registered their dogs.
The Councilor for Neighborhoods and Citizen Security, Joan Serra, highlighted that the initiative is working well, with a noticeable reduction in uncivil behavior. "People are increasingly aware of the regulations, and we are not encountering as much uncivil conduct," he commented.
Serra also reiterated the importance of complying with current regulations, such as microchipping and identification of animals, as well as DNA testing. He warned that fines for non-compliance can reach up to 200 euros, although the council's primary objective is awareness rather than punishment.
The councilor advised that waste bags should be disposed of in organic or general waste bins to avoid potential fines, even if the waste has been properly collected.
