The futsal team from Ripoll has brought its debut season in Primera Catalana to a close with a notable performance. In their final match, they defeated CFS Fontcoberta 6-4 on the Avellaneda court. Player Pere Cortacans was instrumental with a hat-trick, supported by goals from Khalil, Juan Pablo Quintero, and Nico Ramírez.
With this result, Escola Futbol Sala Ripoll concludes a brilliant campaign, finishing in fourth place with 45 points, achieved through 14 wins, 3 draws, and 9 losses. Furthermore, they have established themselves as the second-least-conceded defense in the league, with 86 goals against them. This performance has earned them the coveted promotion to the Preferent league.
“"It was tough to adapt, but the season's summary is very good. I am very happy and proud of the players."
Despite the success, the only regret of the 2025-2026 season was not achieving promotion to Divisió d'Honor, falling just short of a historic milestone. Coach Dani Abellán acknowledges that they couldn't overcome their direct rivals: "We didn't beat the three teams that were above us. They were superior, and we have to accept it." Nevertheless, he states that "in August, I would have signed for a top-four finish".
This was Dani Abellán's first season at the helm of EFS Ripoll, an experience he values positively: "We managed to make the team a cohesive unit, and together with the players, we had a great campaign." With an eye on the future, Abellán is already looking ahead to the next season in Preferent Catalana, aiming to "improve and make next season even better".
