The railway line is currently affected by improvement works in the tunnels located between Ribes de Freser and Puigcerdà. This situation has forced the replacement of part of the route with buses and has halved the frequency of service, from eight to four daily trips. The regional body has emphasized the need to restore previous schedules, citing the loss of the last train that arrived in Ripoll at midnight as an example.
On the other hand, the organization has positively valued the increase in users on bus lines. The connection between Camprodon and Barcelona has experienced a 35% growth in the number of validations over the last year, reaching 85,915 users. This increase is attributed to the doubling of services carried out in March 2025.
The line connecting Ripoll with Girona has also registered an upward trend, with a 23% increase compared to the previous year, totaling 57,950 trips. According to the Consell Comarcal, these figures confirm the importance of offering competitive public transport in terms of price and frequency to ensure daily mobility and population retention in the region.
