The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) and Civil Protection issued an emergency alert this Friday as the Ter and Ges rivers reached dangerous flow levels in northern Catalonia.

The most critical situations are reported in Sant Joan de les Abadesses and Torelló, where water levels have exceeded safety thresholds. Citizens are advised to avoid all access to rivers and streams to prevent accidents related to sudden flooding.
In the Girona region, the Fluvià and Muga rivers are also under close surveillance. Meanwhile, the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation warned of potential flash floods in Tarragona as AEMET forecasts intense rainfall exceeding 20 liters per square meter per hour.
