High danger alert in Sant Joan de les Abadesses due to Ter river flow

The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) has issued a high-danger alert for Sant Joan de les Abadesses and Boadella d'Empordà as the Ter and Muga rivers reach critical flow levels.

Although storm Regina began to lose strength this Saturday morning, the hydrological situation remains concerning. As of 09:00 AM, the Ter river in the Ripollès region recorded a flow of 73.9 m3/s, while the Muga reached 65.5 m3/s in Alt Empordà.
The 112 emergency hotline has handled over 480 calls related to the heavy rains. The most affected areas include Barcelonès and the Vallès regions. Specifically, Sant Joan de les Abadesses emerged as one of the towns with the highest number of incidents, recording 23 emergency calls.
