The mobilization warns that the potential inclusion of Vall de Camprodon in La Garrotxa risks the viability of Hospital de Campdevànol.

Representatives of Ripollès associations gathered this Wednesday in front of the Hospital de Campdevànol to urge the Department of Health to maintain the regional unit in the new distribution of Integrated Health Areas (AIS).

The protest, which took place on Wednesday outside the Hospital Comarcal de Campdevànol, involved reading a manifesto open to the public. The entities from Ripollès are demanding increased resources for both the hospital and the Primary Care Centers (CAP) in the region.
The concern stems from the hospital management's warning that the Government intends to exclude the Vall de Camprodon from its reference area and include it in la Garrotxa, making the Hospital d'Olot the new reference center.

"The regional hospital already has enough difficulties, it already has deficiencies and problems; we think this would be very bad."

Ramon Musacs · Spokesperson for the entities
According to the center's calculations, this new distribution would mean losing 32% of users, including Vall de Camprodon and residents of Sant Joan de les Abadesses. Furthermore, approximately eighty jobs would be put at risk, jeopardizing the economic viability of the Hospital de Campdevànol.
The manifesto emphasizes that any change in health assignment could "negatively affect the care and economic balance" of the center and the accessibility of public services. They also call for labor incentives to attract health personnel to Ripollès and improve the schedules and facilities of the CAPs.
