The Mossos d'Esquadra police force arrested two men, aged 38 and 52, this Wednesday for their involvement in a bizarre safe robbery at the Vall de Núria mountain resort in Queralbs on February 9th.

The suspects, who worked at the hotel complex in the Ripollès region, allegedly used a baby mattress to drag a 300kg safe to an emergency exit. Once outside, they loaded it onto a snow sled and traveled along the rack railway tracks to escape. Despite the effort, they only found 150 euros inside the safe, although they stole another 1,200 euros from a nearby rental hut.
The two men appeared before a judge in Ripoll on Thursday. Authorities believe two other accomplices were involved and the investigation remains open to locate them.
