The town of Vallfogona de Ripollès experienced a festive day this Sunday with its traditional omelet feast, marking the end of the Caramelles celebrations. After collecting eggs from homes around the village, members of the Caramelles group cooked thirty omelets, offering a wide variety of flavors to suit all tastes.
“"Last Sunday, this singing event was held where we went through all the houses in the village, sang a song, and collected eggs and money."
The omelets, prepared with all sorts of ingredients, were a testament to the participants' creativity. Among the most surprising proposals was one with caramelized onion and apple, though there were also options for those with a sweet tooth and traditional varieties. All were enjoyed at a lunch open to the entire village at the cultural center.
The main goal of this activity, according to Eloi, one of the children in the group, is
“"to have fun with his friends."
The gastronomic aspect also holds significant importance, as noted by Laia, who loves to
“"taste all the different omelets."
Both agreed that the chocolate omelet was their favorite. The collected eggs were used for the omelet feast, while the money raised will be used to organize an outing for the children during the summer.
