The Ateneu Popular de la Baixa Segarra is organizing a cycle of talks and debates between January and April 2026 in towns such as L'Espluga de Francolí and Santa Coloma de Queralt, focusing on social and territorial issues.

The cycle began with a workshop on January 17 in L'Espluga de Francolí, titled “Futurs (im)possibles”, at the Museu Terra, organized with En Peu de Terra. The first lecture will be on Friday, February 13 at the Santa Coloma de Queralt Castle, at seven in the evening.

La Conca i la Baixa Segarra: Territori o negoci? (The Conca and Baixa Segarra: Territory or Business?)

This panel discussion, which titles the first talk, is organized with En Peu de Terra, Ateneu Empelt, Sos Vall del Corb, and the collaboration of various entities such as Unió de Pagesos. Activities will continue on February 27 with the screening of the documentary Vidas irrenovables at the headquarters of the Ateneu Baixa Segarra in Santa Coloma de Queralt, in collaboration with GEPEC and Ecologistes de Catalunya.
On March 21, there will be a conference with Ricard Grau, a member of Repoblem, under the title “Habitatge cooperatiu al món rural” (Cooperative housing in the rural world). The cycle also includes the talk “Llengua, lluita i llibertat. Una defensa del català per a l’emancipació de classe” (Language, struggle, and freedom. A defense of Catalan for class emancipation), with Ixeya Quesada of Endavant, on April 11.
The cycle will conclude on April 25 with the presentation of the book Pobretariat: Precarietat laboral i altres debats sobre la classe i el treball (Pobretariat: Labor precarity and other debates on class and work), featuring the author, Vidal Aragonès. All final events will take place at the Ateneu headquarters.
