The Spanish Government has launched emergency works to repave the three most critical kilometers of the A-2 highway in Segarra, where one lane remains closed in each direction.

Traffic restrictions are currently affecting the municipalities of Cervera and Ribera d'Ondara. Although full renovation was not scheduled until late March, the severe road degradation forced authorities to advance maintenance tasks last weekend.

"Workers have acted by filling the most serious potholes and the lanes will remain closed for a few more days to check how the asphalt responds."

The project has an estimated cost of three million euros. This intervention follows an incident last Friday where twenty vehicles suffered damages, including punctures, due to deep potholes and metallic fragments on the road.
