The State Road Unit in Lleida is working on an emergency contract to fully renovate the pavement of the A-2 highway in the Segarra region, specifically between Cervera and Ribera d'Ondara.

The urgent intervention follows an incident last Friday where twenty vehicles suffered punctured tires due to deep potholes. José Crespín, the Spanish Government sub-delegate in Lleida, explained that recent heavy rain and snow significantly worsened the already poor condition of the road surface.
Currently, one lane remains closed in each direction along the three-kilometer stretch. While major improvements were scheduled for late March, officials are now attempting to accelerate the process to ensure driver safety and prevent further mechanical damage to vehicles.

"We hope the works arrive as soon as possible and that there are no more incidents."
