The robbery occurred last Friday at noon at an agricultural site in Talladell. Thanks to the installed video surveillance system, the managers received an immediate alert, and the owner drove to the location while notifying the police.
The owner, who was nearby, managed to block the only access to the site with his vehicle to prevent the escape. The thieves, upon being discovered, attempted to flee by crashing their van into the owner's car, but ultimately escaped on foot across the fields.
The Mossos d'Esquadra initiated a search in the area, finding the abandoned van, which had foreign license plates and was loaded with the stolen material. The investigation focused on analyzing the video surveillance images, disseminating an accurate description of those involved to patrols in Urgell and Segarra.
The arrests took place on Sunday afternoon in Fonolleres, when a patrol identified two young men at a gas station who fully matched the description. Shortly after, they located the third person in a van parked outside the establishment, where they found tools related to forced entry robberies, such as bolt cutters and gloves.
The detainees include a minor and two men aged 25 and 28. The minor was handed over to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, while the two adults, one of whom had a prior record, appeared before the investigating court in Cervera yesterday.
