The Mayor of Almacelles, Vanesa Olivart, submitted her resignation this Thursday morning, seven months after taking office, citing the need for a major medical intervention.

The resignation of Vanesa Olivart, announced through an open letter to the public, comes just seven months after she took office at the Almacelles City Council, marking the third change in the mayoralty during the current term.
Olivart assumed the position on June 4, replacing Joan Bosch, whose resignation was prompted by a government crisis. Previously, Olivart had already led the council during the 2019-2023 term.

I have been following a treatment for six months and the latest medical reports advise me to undergo a major gynecological intervention.

The resignation affects both the mayoralty and her council seat. It is anticipated that Antoni Arnó, the second in command of her party in the council, will replace her as the new mayor of Almacelles.
