The Ministry of Culture, through the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain, has awarded €45,134 to three Catalan projects for the research and safeguarding of intangible heritage.

The allocation is part of a broader state call that distributed €234,000 among 18 selected initiatives out of 138 admitted, aiming to promote the transmission and protection of this type of heritage.
Among the beneficiary Catalan projects is the initiative from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) focused on the preservation and study of dry stone constructions located in the Serra del Montsant.
Also selected was a study by the University of Lleida (UdL) regarding traditional knowledge in the southern Segrià area, as well as an ethnological investigation presented by the Alt Àneu City Council concerning the evolution of traditional forest uses in the Pallars Sobirà municipality.
This annual initiative by the Ministry of Culture seeks to support proposals that promote the social function of intangible heritage, proposing sustainability solutions and driving its research.
