A day dedicated to figs has brought together about thirty tourists from different parts of Catalonia, as well as from Andorra and Zaragoza, in Aitona. Participants enjoyed a visit to a local fruit farm, where they harvested approximately 56 kg of figs directly from the trees.
The activity allowed attendees to learn closely about the cultivation of this fruit and the work of Aitona's farmers. This initiative is part of Fruiturisme's program, which aims to extend the tourist experience beyond the blooming season and showcase Aitona at different times of the year.
“"With Fruiturisme, we want people who visit us not only to contemplate our landscape but to know it, understand it, and live it."
Mayor Rosa Pujol highlighted the town council's intention to foster a deeper connection between visitors and the territory, going beyond mere landscape contemplation.
