The Vidreres City Council has joined the SERGI Foundation's campaign to mobilize vacant homes and offer them for affordable rent to people in vulnerable situations, under the slogan 'The Courage to Trust'.

Vidreres is one of seven municipalities in Girona that have signed agreements with the entity, alongside Banyoles, Sils, Llagostera, Calonge, Platja d’Aro, and Celrà. The initiative aims to incorporate about ten properties by March 2027 among the participating towns and is open to new city councils joining.
The campaign calls on Vidreres property owners with vacant homes to contact SERGI to cede their management. The foundation offers guarantees such as punctual rent payment, multi-risk insurance, free processing of habitability certificates and energy efficiency certificates, as well as documentation management and incident follow-up.
The agreements are tailored to the characteristics of each municipality and the resources each council provides to promote the cession of housing for social use or affordable rent. The foundation plans to present the campaign in each adhering town to explain its operation and build trust among property owners.
