The city of Lleida kicks off the 30th edition of Animac, the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia, this Thursday with an opening ceremony at the La Llotja Theater.

Organized by Lleida City Council, this year's festival runs until Sunday under the theme Things Change. The event features 230 titles from 85 countries, including short films, workshops, and professional conferences.
The 2026 Honorary Award was presented to Irish director Nora Twomey from Cartoon Saloon, while Andreas Hykade received the Animation Master Award. The gala also featured a live performance by Hamill Industries.

"Dreams can come true if what they want is to make animation."
