Animac celebrates 30th anniversary in Lleida honoring Montxo Algora

The International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia attracts 25,000 attendees and awards the founder of ArtFutura.

The city of Lleida hosted the 30th edition of Animac from February 19 to 22, reaffirming its status as a global meeting point for animation with over 25,000 participants.

Under the theme Things Change, the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia showcased over 230 titles. Festival director Carolina López emphasized the importance of networking between industry leaders and emerging creators.
The closing ceremony featured the Lifetime Achievement Award presentation to Montxo Algora. As the founder of ArtFutura, Algora was honored for his significant contributions to digital culture and visual arts since 1990.

Among the winners, the Petit Animac Award went to Das Huhn will Fliegen, and the Future Talent Award was granted to Gauze. The Best Short Film prize was awarded to Sulaimani.
