The cooperative's president, Pere Roqué, highlighted in a letter the professionalism of the Firefighters, Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan Police), Guàrdia Urbana (Local Police), and Civil Protection, who acted effectively to protect the population and prevent greater harm. He also thanked institutions such as the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Lleida, the Lleida City Council, the Consell Comarcal del Segrià, and the Subdelegació del Govern (Government Sub-delegation).
Particularly moving was the response from the agricultural sector itself. Cooperatives, organizations, and companies have offered spaces, services, and collaboration to ensure that the fruit from the farms can continue its journey, demonstrating mutual aid capabilities despite competition.
The cooperative, formed by fifty farming families and which markets between three and four million kilograms of fruit annually, also wished to remember the residents of Vila Montcada-Ciutat Jardí, who experienced the fire up close and had to shelter in place. Solidarity has been extended to them for the inconvenience and uncertainty they suffered.
Finally, the responsible reporting by the media was acknowledged. Arcofrut now faces a long reconstruction with realism and confidence, relying on the strength of collective projects and the resilience of the people who form it, convinced that they will rise again.
