About 5,000 teachers marched through the streets of Lleida this Wednesday to demand labor and salary improvements from the Government, in what unions described as an unprecedented protest.

The protest began at midday at Ricard Viñes square and passed through Rambla d'Aragó, Catalunya avenue, and Blondel avenue. The march ended at Sant Francesc square, where union representatives read a manifesto outlining their demands for the education sector.

"The strike turnout in the Ponent region has been 70% on a day we consider unprecedented for the city."
