The Lleida City Council preventively evacuated the building at Carrer Boters 25 this afternoon, January 21, 2026, after the partial collapse of a party wall from the adjacent structure undergoing demolition affected the property.

The partial collapse of the party wall occurred during the demolition of the buildings located at numbers 21 and 23 of Carrer Boters, which were in a state of ruin. Initial assessments suggest that rain in recent days may have aggravated the structural damage to the wall of number 23.
Only one person was inside the affected building, number 25, at the time of the incident. Following an initial inspection by a municipal technician, residents of the first-floor doors were allowed to return home.

Residents of the second-floor doors will not be able to return to their homes for the time being, while a comprehensive review of the building's condition is carried out to ensure safety.

The four affected apartments include two occupied by a total of three people, while the other two were empty. Social Services of the Paeria quickly mobilized to offer support to those affected, although emergency accommodation was not required.
The First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Urban Agenda, Begoña Iglesias, traveled to the Historic Center to assess the situation and offer municipal support. The Guàrdia Urbana (Local Police) closed the street preventively to facilitate inspection and safety procedures.
