The Minister of Culture, Sònia Hernández, announced this Thursday in Lleida that the local museum's budget will rise from 1.3 to 1.6 million euros.

This 300,000 euro increase is tied to the approval of the Generalitat's new budget. The regional government remains the primary financial supporter of the Lleida Museum, providing over 50% of its total funding.
Museum director Clara Arbués highlighted that the strategic plan focuses on renovating the permanent exhibition, which is currently considered outdated. Other priorities include hiring an archaeologist and upgrading the building's climate control systems.

"It is very common for museums to decline loan requests for pieces that are part of their permanent collection."

Hernández also addressed the refusal to loan five Sijena panels to the Aragon government. She defended the technical decision, stating that removing these items would have compromised the museum's core display for visitors.
