The University of Lleida (UdL) will host a new session of the Música a la UdL cycle this Friday, February 20th, featuring the Blanquers Jazz Sextet in the city of Lleida.

Organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Culture, the event will take place at 7:00 PM in the Rectorate Assembly Hall. The performance focuses on rhythmic jazz styles such as dixie, swing, and hard bop, spanning from the early 1930s to the late 1970s.
Blanquers Jazz Sextet was founded in 2017 by 'Piti' Segura. The current lineup includes Ramon Campà, José Luís Escuer, Agustí Cervera, Xavier Baró, and Rubèn Besora. The band recently performed at the Lleida Jazz Tardor Festival 2024 and has toured extensively across the Lleida and Tarragona regions.
The repertoire features iconic pieces by legends like Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, and Ella Fitzgerald. Attendees will hear standards such as All of me, made famous by Frank Sinatra, alongside surprises like Stevie Wonder's Isn't she lovely.
