The building at number 3 Vallès street, in the Balàfia neighborhood of Lleida, will be demolished next month due to severe structural damage caused by a fire in a ground-floor workshop.

The technical report from the Paeria considers the building to be at risk of collapse, forcing the evacuation of the affected residents, around thirty people, including 11 minors. Adjacent buildings will also be evacuated as a safety measure during the demolition works.
Residents were able to access the property accompanied by firefighters to collect their belongings. One resident, Belén Castejón, lamented that her family has "lost absolutely everything” and is now staying at her sister-in-law's house with her children.
Another resident, Roxanna Corco, explained that they have been sleeping in a hostel provided by social services for two nights and that her daughter is "terrified". The uncertainty about where they will go when they have to leave the accommodation next week looms over the affected individuals.
