This geological phenomenon, located in the Montsec range, has become a point of interest for nature lovers. The vertical limestone walls emerged due to tectonic plate movement, creating a natural barrier that rises above the waters of the Canelles reservoir.
At the top of this formation, historical remains can be found, such as the hermitage of Sant Vicenç de Finestres and the ruins of an ancient medieval castle. Access to this site can be achieved in various ways, adapting to different levels of physical demand.
For those who prefer navigation, there are kayak or boat routes departing from the Corçà pier, in the Noguera region, or from the Congost de Mont-rebei. These routes allow visitors to observe the rock walls from a privileged perspective over the turquoise waters.
Experienced hikers can opt for a walking route starting at the Masieta parking lot. The route is demanding and crosses the gorge, the Seguer suspension bridge, and the Montfalcó walkways, taking approximately four to five hours one way.
Finally, there is the option to arrive by private vehicle. The most direct access is via the N-230 road, turning towards the municipality of Estopiñán del Castillo, a journey that allows reaching the area in less than an hour from the city of Lleida.
