Firefighters worked intensely to extinguish a forest vegetation fire in Castellví de la Marca, in the Alt Penedès region, which led to the precautionary confinement of about 160 people.

Around thirty fire units, including aerial resources, were mobilized to combat a forest vegetation fire in the Castellot area of Castellví de la Marca. The fire, which started at 4:30 PM, was advancing downhill but generated secondary outbreaks.
Wind conditions caused the fire to spread northwest, forcing firefighters to focus their efforts on the head and the left flank. The affected area is estimated to be around ten hectares.
Due to the proximity of the flames, Civil Protection requested the confinement of a 1,725-hectare area, affecting the urbanizations of Pla de Manlleu, la Moixeta, les Pinedes Altes, and la Talaia Mediterrànea, home to approximately 169 residents.

"We are preparing to send an ES-Alert to lift the confinement of the population affected by the fire."

Civil Protection
Around 8 PM, Civil Protection issued an Es-Alert message to residents informing them of the release from confinement, once the situation was under control.
