The regional operator Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) will take over the Manresa railway line from Renfe this autumn, the Government confirmed.

The Executive Council ratified the agreement for FGC to operate the RL3 line (Lleida-Cervera) and the RL4 line (Lleida-Terrassa). This move establishes FGC as the primary rail operator in the Lleida province, except for coastal routes.
Minister Sílvia Paneque announced that the service between Lleida and Cervera will increase from six to nine daily trips per direction. New trains are expected to be fully operational by April following current testing phases.

"This transition represents a qualitative and quantitative leap in rail service."

FGC will also manage 14 stations owned by Adif. Nine of these are located in the Lleida region, including Tàrrega and Mollerussa. Improvements will include new ticketing systems and real-time passenger information displays.
