The Guardia Civil in Lleida has unveiled a new mobile weapons inspection unit designed to bring administrative services closer to the 20,000 license holders in the province.

Starting after Easter, the unit will travel to various locations to handle permit renewals and weapon transfers. José Crespín, the government sub-delegate, explained that the service aims to improve accessibility for citizens living far from the main headquarters in Lleida city.
Priority locations include Mollerussa and the Garrigues area due to their high density of registered firearms. The mobile office requires an external power source and proximity to banks for fee payments. Last year, the force managed 1,400 appointments, a volume they hope to maintain more efficiently through this local outreach.
