The city of Lleida celebrated its main Carnival parade this Saturday, featuring forty floats and a satirical speech by the character Pau Pi, drawing thousands of spectators to the Segrià region.

After days of strong winds, the weather cleared for the traditional celebration. Pau Pi delivered a humorous speech at Plaça de l'Estatut, criticizing local urban planning, the state of the Seu Vella cathedral, and ongoing roadworks with a sharp sense of irony.

"Despite everything, we love Lleida."

This year's event stood out for its inclusivity, featuring a specific section without music or confetti for people with sensory disabilities. The rest of the parade showcased creative costumes, including themes from the series Bridgerton, and satirical floats targeting the Renfe and Adif railway conflict.
