The Paeria (Lleida City Council) began yesterday the replacement of sixty-one litter bins in the Eix Comercial of Lleida with a new model designed to be anti-rust and anti-corrosion. These new containers, which feature a covering on the upper part, have an 80-liter capacity and incorporate an ashtray, in addition to displaying the city council's logo.
The bins are being installed in several key streets in the central area, including Sant Joan, Carme, Cardenal Remolins, Magdalena, Pino, Cebadilla, Major, Sant Antoni, and Alcaldessa Costa. They will also be placed in the squares of Sal, Concejalía, and Sant Joan.
This renewal is part of a larger batch of 121 bins, with a total cost of 51,170.30 euros, VAT included. In addition to the 61 units destined for the Eix Comercial, the Paeria plans to install the remaining units along rambla Ferran over the next few weeks.
The Deputy Mayor for City Management, Begoña Iglesias, and the Councillor for Commerce, Pilar Bosch, visited the renewal works yesterday accompanied by representatives of the merchants' associations of the Eix.
