A fire broke out Sunday night in a warehouse on Vallès street in Lleida, leading to the structural collapse of the building's first floor and forcing the evacuation and confinement of residents.

The incident, which occurred at number 3 Vallès street in the Balàfia neighborhood, triggered an emergency response. According to Protecció Civil, the first-floor ceiling rapidly collapsed due to the flames. The adjacent building at numbers 9 and 11 Corts Catalanes street was also preemptively evacuated, and some local residents were confined.
The fire alarm was received shortly before midnight. No injuries were reported, although witnesses suggest the fire may have started due to unauthorized access to a lot behind the warehouse. Police have launched an investigation into the causes. Approximately 15 fire crews, along with a drone unit, worked to extinguish the flames.

"The first-floor ceiling has collapsed. The building at Corts Catalanes street, 9-11, has also been preemptively evacuated. No injuries."

Protecció Civil
This fire concludes a particularly tense weekend in Lleida, marked by three serious incidents. On Saturday night, a large-scale brawl near Rosa Parks square and Sant Ruf avenue resulted in five injuries, four of them minors, three from stab wounds. The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested one person for attempted homicide.
Additionally, on Sunday, another fire engulfed the facade, industrial machinery, and a forklift at a fruit warehouse near the A-22 highway. A worker sustained minor smoke inhalation injuries while attempting to fight the flames before the arrival of the Bombers de la Generalitat. A large plume of black smoke was visible from various parts of the city.
The accumulation of these events has caused concern. The mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, along with the Paeria's leadership, has called an urgent meeting with commanders from the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guàrdia Urbana to address the city's security situation.
